Post Commons

300 Alby St,

Alton, IL 62002

Anyone who knows me, knows I love a great coffeehouse.

For many years, my bestie, Troy, and I dreamed of opening our very own cafe/coffeehouse. We even checked out the old US Post Office on Alby Street, but it just wasn't the right time for us.

Flash forward to 2018.  Founder Hugh Halter and the Post Commons team, David and Sam McCann, Justine McCann and David Scott have transformed the old U. S. Post Office into an amazing space full of light and atmosphere like no other. I couldn't be more thrilled with their accomplishments.

From the first moment I stepped inside I knew I was going to love the Post Commons. It's the perfect spot to take my computer and set up office for a few hours. I grew up in Alton and while I now reside in Belleville, I'll gladly make the trip several times a week for great coffee and pastries. It has also become a new place to stop in for coffee with my dad on our date days. Dad is as picky as I am about coffee, and he loves it as much as I do.

Next time you're in Alton, stop in for a cup of coffee or tea, say hello to the team and enjoy the community space!
